University of Sto. Tomas


The name of this university was taken from its patron St. Thomas Aquinas and while St. Catherine of Alexandria is the Patroness.  Unibersidad ng Santo Tomas or University of Sto. Tomas is a Pontifical and Royal University in the Philippines  that was founded on 28 April 1611 by archbishop of Manila Miguel de Benavides O.P., the third Archbishop of Manila, and is one of the world's largest Catholic universities in the Philippines and the only university that have been visited by two (2) Popes for three (3) times once in November 28, 1970 by Pope Paul VI, and twice by Pope John Paul II on February 18, 1981 and January 13, 1995.


UST is composed of several autonomous faculties, colleges, schools and institutes, each conferring undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees, and the basic education units.

This University is located in España Boulevard, Manila, Philippines.
